Facilitator Learnings

  • Facilitators learned to step back and make space. The space was filled by group members, who initiated group activities, discussions and problem solving.

  • Facilitators learned the difference between high stake and low stake failures. They learned to identify when and how to provide support.

  • When facilitators provided support they did so with curiosity. They did not provide unnecessary answers or do tasks on Group Members behalf. Instead asked - ‘ I’m not sure, what do you think?’ flipping the power back on to the group participant.

  • Facilitators were trained to expect and be comfortable with conflict. Welcoming natural conflict within the group resulted in the strengthening of positive group dynamics.
